How to Set Up Your NomadPaws™ Backseat Extender

Step 1: Unfold and Position

Unfold the NomadPaws™ Backseat Extender with the mesh window facing the front of your car. Lay out all three support panels evenly across the backseat, ensuring each one lies flat to create a safe and stable surface for your dog.

Step 2: Secure the Seat Anchors

Push the seat anchors deep into the crevice between your rear seat cushions. A snug fit is important for keeping the extender in place, especially for larger dogs or longer drives.

Step 3: Fasten the Headrest Straps

Attach the adjustable straps to the front and back headrests. Start with the front seats and tighten until the extender feels secure and doesn’t slide when pressed. Make sure the panels remain flat against the seat surface and avoid overtightening.

Step 4: Add the Door Covers

Zip on the door covers and loop the lanyards through the rear grab handles of your car. Clip the ends into the designated loops on each door cover. Check that nothing is left loose and that the covers sit smoothly without pulling the extender upwards.

Step 5: Buckle In Your Pup

Use the Velcro openings to access the seat belt buckles. Guide the included seat belt leash through the slots, clip it onto your dog’s harness, and buckle them in securely for a safe and relaxed ride.

1. Machine Washing
The NomadPaws™ Backseat Extender is fully machine washable. However, due to its size and weight, make sure your washing machine can handle the load. Before washing, remove the support boards and lanyards from the door covers. Wash on a gentle cycle with cold water, and always air dry to preserve the waterproof fabric and overall structure.


2. Light Cleaning
For everyday messes, a simple wipe-down is all you need. Use a damp cloth or wet paper towel to remove surface dirt and maintain a fresh, clean look. Regular light cleaning extends the life of the material and keeps your setup road-trip ready.

3. Proper Upkeep
